Shattered Solstice

Solstice IV :: Session 58

Though the astral dreadnought proves a resilient guardian, it is eventually defeated. Moving deeper into the complex the group finds the Orb of Dragonkind and Lerelan and several devas protecting it. For a time the group tries to convince her to step aside, but her adamant stance instead starts to wear away at the resolve of the party. But when they learn that the gem dragons had not left this encounter to chance, all parties involved are forced to act.

So, Lord Ember doesn’t want to just skulk away, but also he no longer feels that Tavi’s solution has an acceptable level of risk (she not once disagreed with the protests that her plan would involve sacrificing the bulk of the human population). Between what Obsidian stated, and Lerellon’s response it seems to Ember that the Gem dragons are on their way. (With what’s at stake, and the hourglass “on their side” he doesn’t feel they would refrain from personal involvement if needed). Lord Ember will shout out a “call to arms”…

If the Gem dragons are on their way, this is a perfect opportunity for all of us to strike a real, unilateral, blow to dragon-kind. That is true hope. That is true revenge.

If between all of us and two goddesses, the best plan we can come up with is to kill each other before the real enemy has even arrived, humanity is already fucked… so you all might as well get on with it.

I go now to fight the Gem dragons.

With that, Lord Ember sheathes his sword and turns and walks downstairs to await the Gem dragons, solo if necessary.
